It’s our favourite time of year at Xavier Place, as we countdown to Christmas and celebrate with all the festive feels!

The tree is up, the house is decorated, the tunes are playing, the yummy Christmas treats are being baked. We’ve enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch with a fun secret Santa and lots of dancing and laughter!

It’s a time to be thankful and reflect on the year we’ve had with guests, families, staff and community partners.

Last week, Xavier Place guest Joel, Support Worker Chloe, Art Therapist Charlie and Music Therapist Becca took a trip over to Woolworths Yeerongpilly to thank them for their support during 2024. Throughout the year, Woolworths Yeerongpilly have provided morning tea every Wednesday for our Teddy Bear Tea children and families to enjoy.

We’d also like to thank extend our thanks to Brisbane City Council. In 2024, proudly supported by Brisbane City Council’s Lord Mayor’s Community Sustainability and Environmental Grants Program we were able to install solar panels making Xavier Place more energy efficient.

Our community partnerships have been a special part of our journey throughout the year. The Xavier Place team recently enjoyed celebrating with Queensland Children’s Hospital at their 10th birthday party.

Our Delta therapy dogs and their owners have brought joy to Xavier Place all year round. Thank you Elena and Charlie, Brad and Chester for visiting us. We are looking forward to more pats, cuddles and friendship in 2025!

The Xavier Place team will take a short break to celebrate Christmas time with their families. We will be closed from Monday 23 December and re-open Monday 6 January, ready to welcome in a brand new year with our guests!
