Providing physiotherapy for children with a disability in Ipswich

Over recent months, we have been working to grow and improve the therapy supports that we provide for children and young adults with a complex disability. One of the ways that we’re now providing better support is by extending our community therapy clinics into more suburbs across the Brisbane region.

Our new therapy clinic at Eastern Heights is bringing occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy support to children and young adults with physical and multiple disabilities in the Ipswich area

In this article, we take a look how physiotherapy can support children with a disability in Ipswich.

Physiotherapy can support your child with a disability to:

  • Develop movement and work on milestones such as crawling, walking, sitting, standing and co-ordination
  • Maintain or improve muscle tone, strength and flexibility
  • Assist with recommendations and prescription for mobility equipment
  • Manage pain and stiffness
  • Improve body positioning and posture
  • Enjoy hydrotherapy programs (where available)
  • Develop skills for play
