Choosing the right disability support services in Brisbane

To get the right support for your child with a physical or multiple disability,  choosing the disability support services in Brisbane to meet the needs of your child and your family is crucial.

With so many service providers, it can seem like an overwhelming task to choose the right provider. It can be difficult to know where to start and to understand which providers will best meet your unique needs. Under the NDIS, you should be looking for the provider that will help your child to meet the goals set out in their plan.

The national guidelines on best practice in early childhood intervention are a resource to compare service providers and ensure that they meet the necessary requirements.

In summary, the guidelines state that service providers should have the following eight features.

  1. Family centred and strength -based practice
  2. Culturally responsive
  3. Inclusive
  4. Engaging the child in natural environments
  5. Collaborative teamwork
  6. Capacity building
  7. Evidence base, standards, accountability and practice
  8. Outcome based approach
