Looking for respite for your teenager in Brisbane?

Parents and carers of teenagers know that they love hanging out with their friends, trying out new things and experiences and gaining independence from their family. This applies to teenagers with high support needs just as much as for typically developing teenagers. However, for teenagers with high support needs arising from complex disability, it is usually much more challenging for them to achieve this.

Xavier Place is our purpose built 6-bed respite centre located in the Brisbane suburb of Yeerongpilly. It provides a safe home-away-from-home where teenagers with high support needs can hang out with others their own age and experience a feeling of independence away from their family home.

Xavier Place is perfectly located in the up and coming suburb of Yeerongpilly with its vibrant café and shopping scene, surrounded by beautiful green spaces. The Xavier Place team regularly facilitate outings for our guests to get out and about with their friends – and just be teenagers! During the COVID-19 health situation, all outings are undertaken in accordance with the latest advice from Queensland Health.

As a parent or caregiver, you can be confident that your teenager will receive the quality of care that they need. The Xavier Place team are trained by our Registered Nurses and Occupational Therapists to support children and young people with high needs. We run overnight wake and sleep shifts and have a Registered Nurse on call at all times.

It means that our teenage guests get to have fun as well as getting out and about around Brisbane while receiving the care and support that they need.
